Griz Days

The Fernie Museum loves community history and is driven to preserve and document special events that happen in the Elk Valley.

One of the most beloved, iconic winter events has been the Griz Days celebration. Honouring the legend of the Griz, the festival has been running in the community for more than 40 years.

To help commemorate this annual tribute to winter the Fernie Museum is partnering with the Fernie Chamber of Commerce to create a video documenting the long history of Griz Days. The short docu-film will look at the roots of the celebration and celebrate the community spirit that has driven the event over the past 40 years.

The film will debut during the 2021 Griz Days festival. More details coming in January 2021.
