Untangling The Ancient Arts of Spinning, Weaving, Knitting & Felting

by Fernie Spinners & Weavers Guild, Curated by Laura Nelson

The stories are told in fiber, the histories are dyed in wool. Their creations are pieces of fine art made with love and pride. Fabrics of History, the Fernie Museum’s new exhibit, features the extraordinary work of the members of the Fernie Spinners and Weavers Guild. The exhibit will explore the history of various fibre arts including felting, knitting, as well as spinning wool from various sources including sheep and dog hair and weaving it into beautiful mosaics.

Visitors to the Fernie Museum will be asked to wear a mask, sanitize their hands upon entering and socially distance while visiting the exhibit. A maximum of 6 visitors will be allowed in the Museum Gallery.
